So yes… I’m editing a video for Fast Forward. It’s the only video where I believe the footage with me in the robot outfit works because the song’s arrangement is not ‘serious’ and the vibe is very light. I am not sure if there’s enough footage to be honest, but the ideas thus far are coming together quite nicely. So I am rolling with it. It’s the video that is really calling out to me to be made ‘now’ in any case. All in all I believe I have enough for about 4-5 videos for this album, but making them has been the real challenge. Finding or creating time is the difficulty in all of this. But I digress…

Because I’m into the idea of sharing my progress with the universe at large (whether they understand it or not is another debate), here’s my first bit of notes. The creative process I am following is from a lesson I picked up on from just watching a few previews of a film-making class I may take with Werner Herzog, who works without storyboards. Expounding on his ideas on that, I thought instead to map the song’s waveform out into sections based on the tempo and the changing of scenes. I let the blocks form a pattern and a story has emerged. This actually helped me formulate a better story for the footage in a way I had not thought of. I’m going to really consider that class now! Enjoy the notes…
